Minibonds can broaden the funding available to small and medium-sized companies when they form part of a credible industrial strategy. They do not automatically replace bank lending: they require readable data, cash-flow planning, governance and a more mature relationship with investors and advisers.

A sound transaction connects amount, maturity and repayment to the planned investment programme. Reporting, covenants and transparency are not decorative requirements: they make the growth path measurable and help identify financial imbalances early.
