Improvement plausibly attributable to the investor’s financial or operational contribution, compared with a credible alternative.

An observed improvement in a social or environmental condition, distinct from delivery of an activity or service.

Strategic use of development or philanthropic resources to mobilise commercial capital where additionality can be established.

Financing, risk-sharing or return terms more favourable than market terms for a clearly justified purpose.

Reasoned estimate of what would have happened without an intervention, with uncertainty and assumptions made explicit.

Applications, analytics, platforms and services that convert satellite signals or images into usable products.

Non-repayable funding that removes a barrier to capabilities, follow-on finance or a lasting service.

Risk that the intended benefit fails, harmful outcomes arise, or the supporting evidence is too weak, including legal and legitimacy risks.

Measurement, Reporting and Verification: procedures and evidence that make claims and indicators auditable.
